Prize distribution marks the culmination of literary and extra-curricular activities in a college. Prizes are awarded to inspire a healthy sense of competition among the students. Students are kept busy round the year in studies, games and sports and other literary activities like debates, essay writing, elocution and stage shows. It encourages them to aspire for excellence.
Extra-curricular activities give healthy outlet to the surplus energy among the students. The present growing indiscipline among the college students is the result of lack of playgrounds and absence of extra-mural and cultural activities. Physical culture is important as mental culture.
